Consultant Haematologist — Myeloid
About the role
An NHS health board in Wales is recruiting a substantive Consultant Haematologist with a special interest in myeloid disorders — a 10-session (10 PA) replacement post joining an established team of eight consultant haematologists. The service delivers acute leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, stem cell transplant and specialist haematology care across the region, with an on-site autologous transplant programme, and the post is based at a principal hospital site with some clinics at a neighbouring site. Current on-call commitment is 1:7. Specialist registration is not necessarily a dealbreaker: the department will consider doctors on the Specialist Register, those due CCT soon, and experienced UK-based Specialty Doctors with a strong haematology background who are ready for the next step. Person specification
Essential
- Full GMC registration
- On the GMC Specialist Register, within six months of CCT at interview — or a strong UK haematology background at Specialty Doctor level ready for the next step
- Substantial UK haematology experience, including malignant haematology
- Evidence of English-language competence (IELTS/OET) where required
Desirable
- A special interest in myeloid disorders
- Experience across acute leukaemia, myeloma, lymphoma and stem cell transplant care
- Teaching, audit or research involvement
